As the best cook in the family, my aunty Maysa often uses pomegranates in her dishes. The tart, bright fruit packs traditional Palestinian flavor, texture, and color into many of the best recipes. From the beginning of the life of the pomegranate starting from a flower, transforming into a fruit to be included in dishes in its fresh form, or even as juices or syrup. None goes to waste. Additionally, ‘Jalnar’ translates to ‘blossom of the pomegranate tree,’ so I had to include a few poms in the mix :)
