This pendant is made with gold I recycled in-studio. With the silhouette of the raw perimeter still maintained, this sort of circular charm was then hand-engraved with the olive leaves motif seen on the perimeter of the keffiyeh, representing Palestinians’ deep connection to our olive trees. Aside from the economic role of Palestinian olive, the average tree lives between 300-600 years and have been raised by generations of families, which is an apt representation of our attachment to the land. The hand-engravings are bright-cut and combined with a satin finish, encouraging each cut to catch light every chance it gets.
