This pendant is made with silver I recycled in-studio. With the silhouette of the raw edges still maintained, this sort of circular charm was then hand-engraved with over 70 cuts to imitate the stitches of the ‘Reesh’ motif– representing feathers, inspired by versions of the design found in Tatreez (the art of Palestinian embroidery). The hand-engravings were then oxidized and combined with a satin finish on the face for a bold, highly contrasted effect. The back, edges, and bail are highly polished.
Inspired by versions of the Reesh motif preserved digitally via the Tirazain archives.
